Bittersweet - a universal truth about motherhood. Everyday I find myself looking forward to what lies ahead for my girls -an experience, a skill, an emotion - and then I stop, think and scold myself for wishing away today. They will never be the same as they are today. Sophie won't toddle in a "controlled crash" forever, Elle won't shake her head that crazy way when she dances forever... this, that and the next will fade and be forgotten and they will grow up. It's bittersweet, this parenthood business, yet it's the greatest blessing life has to offer. I'm hoping, at the start of this new year (just 31 days late!), to record the silly, profound and simply fabulous things my girls say and do here to share with you. Enjoy the journey - may they make you smile and warm your heart the way they do mine.
